Children's Activities
Gatlinburg and the surrounding area is a paradise for children of all ages with so many things to do that it will take many visits to see it all! And... much of it is free! Starting with a plan is important. Check the weather and plan your outdoor activities when the weather is right saving the indoor activities for other days.
Our top suggestions include:
- Take the kids fishing in Gatlinburg.
There are two designated children's fishing areas which are heavily stocked with trout. These are located at North Gatlinburg Park, at the northern Parkway entrance to the city, and Mynatt Park off Historic Nature Trail. Both of these sites are marked with signs which indicate the boundaries of the designated areas. What! You forgot your fishing tackle! NO PROBLEM, just go to Smoky Mountain Angler, they will have what you need. Please read the fishing regulations before you go fishing.
For information and rules on fishing in the Gatlinburg area, contact the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce, 520 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 37738. Phone: 865-436-4558; 1-800-568-4748 or go to the following link: Tennessee / Gatlinburg Fishing License Information
